The Berkeley Carroll School Performing Arts Center

For the new home of the performing arts program of Brooklyn’s Berkeley Carroll School, 1100 Architect transforms an 80-year-old church into a contemporary black-box theater. The design—which includes a stage area, control booth, green room, and set design shops—can accommodate 400 audience members and host concerts, dance recitals, plays, and film screenings. The space can also double as a classroom or lecture hall through the retraction of custom blackout curtains.
