Abodo: House on Sag Harbor
We’re pleased to share that House on Sag Harbor has been featured by Abodo, the New Zealand-based timber manufacturer whose Vulcan® Cladding was selected for the project’s continuous rainscreen.
This features Founding Principal David Piscuskas’s approach to material selection, including the team’s multi-season on-site mockup process that informed the final choice of timber. As David describes it, “the way the wood looked was directly correlated to how it was cut and where the sun was” — a discovery that led to a fine-textured cladding that softens light and deepens the wood’s natural color over time. The article also touches on the long-term thinking behind the project, from its careful siting to the choice of materials designed to weather well with minimal maintenance.
We’re grateful to Abodo and reSAWN TIMBER co. for their close collaboration on this project.
