Philipp Venema, AK RP

Principal

Philipp Venema has been part of the 1100: Architect team since 2017 and, since early 2025, a member of the management board of the Frankfurt office. In recent years, he has played a key role in shaping and further developing the firm’s work in the field of sports and event venues. His focus lies on the strategic planning and architectural design of complex public building projects.

At 1100: Architect, he is responsible, among other things, for the planning of the SV Darmstadt 98 Stadium, which he oversaw in a leading role through multiple project phases. The preservation-oriented renovation of the Mühltalbad in Darmstadt presented special challenges regarding both the building fabric and its atmosphere. In addition, he was responsible for the competition entry for a multifunctional arena in Vienna.

After studying architecture at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Philipp gained early practical experience at architecture firms with offices in Zurich, New York, and the Rhine-Main region. Working on competitions and large-scale projects in different cultural contexts sharpened his eye for solutions that are both precise and resilient in design.

Experienced in managing complex large-scale projects in the public sector, Philipp Venema brings both meticulous planning skills and entrepreneurial thinking to his work. He enjoys communication and knows how to unite diverse interests—both within project teams and in dialogue with clients and partners.

Philipp has been a registered member of the Chamber of Architects and Urban Planners of Rhineland-Palatinate since 2018.
