Water Mill Bunk House
Designed as a playful and private refuge for children and guests, the Bunkhouse is partially embedded into a sloped site within a 15-acre compound in Water Mill, NY. The upper level cantilevers above the forest floor and contains three bedrooms, a dining area, and kitchen, while the lower level disappears into the terrain. Straightforward materials—poured concrete, wood, cement board, and glass—were used to deliver a distinctive yet cost-efficient structure. Its elevated massing and natural palette minimize the impact upon the land, blending into the surrounding woodland.
