House in Wellesley
Designed for a young family, this house in Wellesley, Massachusetts offers a contemporary rendition of New England’s traditional white clapboard architecture. Inspired by the clients’ vision of a living in a white cube, the interlocking form emerged from studies of views, light, and spatial efficiency.
A steel-frame structure allows for open, flexible interiors and uninterrupted sightlines, while carefully placed walls of glass and windows frame the surrounding landscape and create a compelling sense of immersion in nature.
