House in Miami Beach
Anchored on a waterfront site in Miami Beach, this two-story residence is designed to maximize its connection to the bay while maintaining a strong sense of privacy. Along the west facade, expansive sliding doors open the interior to a covered dining terrace with a pool, hot tub, sauna, cold plunge and cabana, extending everyday living and wellness from the home to the water’s edge. Adjustable louvers filter sunlight and views throughout the home. These mechanisms allow for both natural ventilation and enhanced privacy, while layered landscaping reinforces seclusion from neighboring properties and the public realm. Inside, an open plan creates flexible zones for daily life and preserves uninterrupted sightlines to the water and the sunset. Embracing ever changing natural lighting conditions, the architecture seeks balance shade and illumination while dissolving the boundary between interior and exterior and capturing an immersive continuous coastal experience.
