Convent of the Sacred Heart Library
As part of an ongoing collaboration with Convent of the Sacred Heart, 1100 Architect renovated the school’s library within its landmarked early 20th-century building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The design preserves historic character while introducing contemporary elements to support flexible, student-centered learning. Color, texture, and pattern are used to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Modular furniture accommodates both group collaboration and quiet study. Naturally lit alcoves provide comfortable spaces for individual reading and reflection. The project complements other recent work at the school, including a new Future Lab and Makerspace completed in 2023.
