New Apartment Units in Worms: A Neighborhood Shaped by Learning and Community
A new residential district is taking shape in the city’s Nordend neighborhood. Spread across approximately 20,000 square meters, the development will comprise around 50 housing units, complemented by a play-and-learning center, a neighborhood hub, and a central public square.
Organized in four angled volumes, the buildings integrate sensitively into the surrounding urban fabric while forming a distinct edge along Radgrubenweg and Kleine Weide—marking a clear conclusion to the district’s existing development.
At the heart of the ensemble lies a generously planted courtyard, framed by open-access galleries that connect the buildings and invite informal interaction. In addition to providing contemporary, affordable housing, the project creates spaces for shared learning, play, and community life—establishing a setting that supports social cohesion and everyday encounter.
