Building Foundations: A New Kindergarten Takes Shape in Ilbenstadt
At the construction site of the new early childhood education center in Ilbenstadt, first first exterior walls are now in place and the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone has marked the next phase of progress.
For the municipality of Niddatal, the new kindergarten represents the largest public construction project in over fifty years. A fact that made the moment all the more meaningful. Together with the mayor, the building authority, preschool directors, and our planning team, a time capsule was sealed within the foundation stone. Representing 1100 Architect were team lead Karin Kohlhaas, project manager Florian Ripke, and project architect Mayra Ortiz Hernández.
Our managing director Gunter Weyrich expressed our deep appreciation for being part of such a purposeful and community-centered initiative. Designed for seven groups of children, the new center will offer generous space for learning and care—while integrating harmoniously into its residential surroundings through a thoughtful spatial layout. A place designed to foster comfort and connection for children, parents, and educators alike.
