House on Cape Cod
Set on a hillside overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, this summer home responds to the unique ecology of Cape Cod’s Outer Beach. Designed to engage the surrounding dunes and wetlands, the house offers expansive views and easy transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces. Its form is defined by two volumes: a cedar-shingled upper level referencing local vernacular and a lower volume clad in red cedar siding. Inside, open-plan interiors maximize spatial flexibility and frame ocean views. Materials were chosen for their durability in coastal conditions, as well as their ability to weather naturally over time.
