Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH)
On Thursday, November 20, 1100 Architect was pleased to take part in the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) New York program “Continental Dialogues: Architecture Between Europe and America,” held at the Goethe-Institut NY and co-hosted with Network For Architecture Exchange (NAX) and the Federal Chamber of German Architects. The event brought together architects and urban thinkers to explore how design practice evolves across different cultural and regulatory landscapes.
The program convened practitioners from Europe and the United States for a wide-ranging conversation about the forces that shape cross-border architectural work. Topics included broad considerations around sustainability, market expectations, and the exchange of design approaches between regions. As a featured participant, 1100 Architect Founding Principal Juergen Riehm, FAIA, BDA, contributed perspectives informed by the firm’s long-standing presence in both New York and Frankfurt.
CTBUH, an organization dedicated to advancing research and dialogue within the built environment, created a setting where speakers and attendees could reflect on the value of international collaboration. The discussion underscored how shared experience across global markets can strengthen design thinking and support more responsive, resilient architecture.
