Art Depot Fulda

Designed as a centralized facility for the Vonderau Museum’s collections, this specialized building supports conservation, storage, and public engagement. Located in Fulda’s Münsterfeld district, the depot comprises three volumes that house administrative functions, storage areas, and workshops. The structure enables climate-controlled storage for a diverse range of materials, with zones for quarantine, decontamination, and documentation. Public areas include event spaces, educational rooms, and a sculpture garden extending into an adjacent park. Sustainability measures such as green roofs and rainwater harvesting support long-term efficiency. Smart building technologies ensure stable interior conditions at low operational cost. The project bridges museum infrastructure with civic life, offering a forward-looking model for collection care.
