Karin Kohlhaas, AKH
Principal
Since 2013, Karin Kohlhaas has brought a keen sense of architectural quality and a special eye for the realization of complex building tasks to the projects of our Frankfurt office. She combines conceptual thinking with precise construction execution, always prioritizing the interests of the client.
As a member of the management team, Karin Kohlhaas plays a key role in shaping the office’s culture of implementation. Her professional focus lies in public-sector projects, with an emphasis on educational buildings, subsidized housing, and municipal infrastructure. Among the projects she has overseen are construction measures on the US Army site in Wiesbaden and the development of the “Scentral” drug counseling center in Darmstadt. One particularly meaningful project for her was the “Kleine Weltentdecker” daycare center in Niddatal, which opened in 2025 and which she guided from the initial design through to completion.
After studying architecture at the Technical University of Darmstadt and the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, she began her professional career in 2000 at an architecture firm in Frankfurt. This was followed by roles as a research associate at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern and at several planning offices in the Rhine-Main region. During this time, she deepened her expertise in project and construction management, particularly in the field of residential construction.
Karin has been a registered member of the Chamber of Architects and Urban Planners of Hesse since 2000.
