Zalando Outlet

The online clothing retailer Zalando enlisted 1100 Architect to design a new flagship outlet store in Frankfurt, adding to their brick-and-mortar presence in Germany. The interior of this former department store was stripped down, exposing a concrete ceiling and industrial flooring that create a contemporary loft-like environment. A linear light system accentuates the building’s structure, while stained plywood shelving and suspended black-steel clothing rods reinforce the industrial aesthetic. Elements such as wood furniture, felt curtains, and accents in Zalando’s trademark orange lend a sense of vibrancy to the space.
