Berkeley Carroll Performing Arts Center Opens

Berkeley Carroll Performing Arts Center opened this summer, providing the Brooklyn-based private preK-12 school with a performance space that can accommodate 396 audience members. 1100 Architect designed the venue by renovating a former church built in 1936. Working with consultants Fisher Dachs Associates and Lally Acoustical Consultants, the project transformed what had been a sanctuary into a new fully equipped theater with tiered seating, a lighting grid, and a control room on the second floor. The stage can be reconfigured for multiple arrangements, from smaller lecture events to full house performances. As part of the renovation, 1100 Architect also designed a costume room, a green room, and a tech shop where students can build sets and other props.
