Project Description

Fifth Avenue Penthouse

The design for this penthouse apartment on Fifth Avenue, in Manhattan, began by razing the existing, outdated interiors, which were beset by intrusively low ceilings and a complicated layout. In its place, 1100 Architect created a clean, organized design that opens up the previously partitioned space. Sliding elements allow for interior adaptability, while storage space is discreetly incorporated into the walls. The new ceiling layout was ordered through the careful placement of coves and use of low-profile lighting fixtures. The design includes resized window openings, which introduced consistent proportions to the space and maximized exposure to natural light.
