The University of Pennsylvania and 1100 Architect celebrated the Grand Opening of Perry World House on September 20, 2016. The newly opened building will now serve as the hub for all of the university’s global initiatives.  In the midst of a two-day symposium to mark the building’s inauguration, a group of dignitaries, including university trustee and lead donor Richard C. Perry, university president Dr. Amy Gutmann, and former U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, officially cut the ribbon in an afternoon ceremony. Calling it “an immediate landmark,” President Gutmann, said “Perry World House is magnificent—not in size, but in its beauty and in what it represents.”
