1100 Architect celebrated the opening of a new kindergarten in Frankfurt-Riedberg, Germany. Designed to encourage the use of outdoor space, the U-shaped building frames a park that children and teachers can use as a complement to classroom space, while shielding the children from the distractions of the surrounding city. A model of sustainability, the Kita was designed along Passive House Design standards, using the building’s form and orientation to minimize energy use.
