Real estate developer Art-Invest and Accumulata invited 1100 Architect to participate in a design competition to redevelop Munich’s Berg am Laim district. The project, a redevelopment of the former Temmler Headquarter, will include loft offices, a hotel, and commercial and retail programs.  1100 Architect’s design concept creates a lively urban ensemble of distinct buildings linked by newly designed public spaces and walkways. To allow the greatest flexibility to workspace tenants, 1100 Architect’s design called for self-sufficient volumes which can be easily combined. In reference to the area’s former brick manufacturing activity, the facades of the retail and office spaces would be clad in glazed terracotta panels while the hotel would be clad with a glazed brick façade.
