1100: To Renovate Red Hook Recreation Center

New York City Department of Parks and Recreation commissioned 1100 Architect to lead an upcoming renovation of the Red Hook Recreation Center, an historically landmarked building. Built in the 1930s, this facility—a public recreation center with an outdoor pool—has long been a community anchor for Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood, but for the last several years, it has been closed for maintenance. Our design will provide needed updates, optimizing its performance for the 21st century and making it a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable environment.
