A Place to Meet - 'Bürgerhaus' Einhausen

At the end of 2021, we were commissioned to design and construct a sports and cultural center.

For the community of Einhausen, we are creating a municipal infrastructure facility: an important venue in which cross-generational sporting, cultural and social events can take place. As part of the design planning, the aim was to create a 'Bürgerhaus' that would enable a variety of activities by different user groups, and would contribute to strengthening social cohesion and social integration of all population groups in the future.

The three-story building will be open and inviting, allowing for easy orientation and high flexibility of use. A prominent, two-story entrance foyer leads visitors to the first floor event hall with stage – a flexible space in close proximity to all other areas of the facility. The upper floor and the basement are comprised of various club rooms for youth and community groups. A clear spatial structure, and barrier-free accessibility of all rooms support this spirit of community and ensure a sustainable and durable building for the community of Einhausen.
