1100: Celebrates Women’s History Month

In the school’s new makerspace, the project team: 1100 Associate Justine Banda, 1100 Principal Gwen Conners, and Convent of the Sacred Heart CAO Jamie Bowen.

In celebration of the conclusion of Women’s History Month, we recently took a tour of one of our education projects at an all-girl’s school in Manhattan, led by an all-female team from 1100.

“We were looking for a science and technology facility that was open, collaborative and inspirational for students,” said Jamie Bowen, Chief Administrative Officer at Convent of the Sacred Heart school. “We are very satisfied with 1100’s work. Their wonderful design serves our students well.”

“We’re starting to see a transition in way teaching is done,” 1100 Principal Gwen Conners shared. “The design encourages cross disciplinary learning and looks to the future for students who may find themselves one day working in technical fields.”

The project is currently two-thirds complete, and will be finished over the summer recess. “As an all-female team collaborating on this project, our girls can see what is possible. We set an example,” Jamie added.
