U.S. Department of State Awards 1100 Architect with Contract to Design U.S. Diplomatic Facilities
The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Building Operations (OBO) awarded 1100 Architect a term contract to provide comprehensive design services for U.S. diplomatic facilities worldwide. The five-year contract authorizes the selected firms to provide services for both new construction and the modernization of American embassies, consulates, and chanceries.
OBO selected 16 final awardees—including 1100 Architect—from a cohort of 136 applicants. As OBO said in its announcement, “the final 16 selected firms presented the most highly qualified technical teams and demonstrated exemplary past performance, strong management and project delivery experience, a well-defined approach to public architecture, and a commitment to sustainability and integrated design.”
